Community Art Project
I’ve started an exciting new community art project with Craft Scotland and Historic Environment Scotland (HES) – Making History.
I’m working with a local community group to carry out an artistic investigation of Dunfermline Abbey, the building’s nave and sanctuary, its history, its people and its societal legacy. In addition to the great team at Craft Scotland and HES, I’m thrilled that two local Boys Brigade companies have joined me on this journey. The 4th Dunfermline company are base at the Abbey and the 3rd Dunfermline company are at nearby St Leonard’s Church.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the the BBs, their leaders and their families to get involved in a fun and productive project that will teach them about he traditional craft of stained glass making So far their enthusiastic approach has created some great art.
The project involves reaching out to Young Scots across Scotland and, through online and distance learning, we hope to inspire to investigate their own Doorstep History.
